Project details:
· New work - Looking to retrofit their development and deployment processes.
· Senate is discussing going to the cloud and has realized they are not quite ready
· They currently have 2 teams supporting do not have the bandwidth to prepare them for the cloud
· This project is a standalone task order.
· Applications being developed are on-prem .Net / Java-based applications
Interview Process:
· 30-minute phone interview with Tech Lead at the client· Onsite meeting with the Senate next week (waiting to hear back exact date)
POSITION NOTES:
· Automation will be implementing the strategic vision, hands-on with Docker, scripting, Ansible, IaaS deployed, implementing what the Platform Engineer
· This is the last piece of the project. Whoever fills this spot, they can get a start date for the whole team.
· April 30th is the date Senate proposed to them.
· Prime is working on the roll too.
· Hybrid cloud environment wants to problem solve
· Docker, Redhat (Openshift)
· Bash over Perl
· Ansible or Puppet over CloudFormation or Terraform (more relevant to the Senate current state)
· CI/CD Jenkins
· Gitlab/Github - Source control
· Java, great. Python, but no Java, that’s good too.
· YAML - front end development
· Doesn\'t have to be super Sr. 4+ years experience
· Bachelor\'s level in IT, or Computer Science with relevant experience (4 – 6 years).
· Experience administrating a Linux-based environment (RHEL, CentOS, CoreOS), Docker, container orchestration tools is a plus (e.g., preferably Kubernetes/EKS/OpenShift)· Experience working in a hybrid cloud environment —
· Automation experience: Bash/Perl, Terraform/CloudFormation/Ansible, CI/CD with Jenkins, Gitlab
· Can code in Java with knowledge of: Spring Boot, Jboss, JMS, python with knowledge of Django,and yaml
· Deep knowledge of pipleline automation, and unit testing
· Agile mindset and you like to tackle complex problems and take initiative and responsibility.
· Excellent communication skills
Responsibilities:
· Technical expertise and support in
· Development, Scripting, and Programming. To develop and maintain system dashboards, Jenkins pipelines, Ansible utilities for server management and deployment, to assist customers with pipeline creation. To create and maintain automated cataloging and versioning of images and templates. To take on maintenance of applications created for various departments by third parties or to create new applications in-house Technical expertise in NodeJS, Django, .net, Java
· Technical expertise in implementing and maintain CI/CD pipelines Technical Documentation
· Technical expertise in unit and functional testing
